Mailbag: Don’t tell the bad guys

On letting the bad guys know we won't torture

(I thought I'd include this letter since the link to Ajai's post on torture is broken...sorry I missed that).

  1. It has been proven that torture does not yield credible intel. Torture also makes us hypocritical, since we have signed the Human Rights Treaty. This simply fans the flames of radicals. It's a lose, lose either any way you look at it.

I like what Kenny D. has to say.

  2. How do you post items on this blog?

    I'm blog illiterate =(.

Can't seem to log in on the GT or DH site as well since they taken on their new look.

I was impressed with Kenny D as well.

  3. momofthree, Tom has to set it up for you to be able to post. You can email him about it. I don't think he would mind.

  4. I know he was in Portland the other Thursday, but I did not get a chance to talk to him. I hope he is well.

The letter is disturbing. Sure don't restrain our best and brightest with that silly rule of law.

I like Austins comment, sarcastically saying we should just arrest Osama, that would fix it!

Umm, yeah, that actually would be more productive than spending a decade blowing up random countries.

The party guided by Dick Cheney does not have any credibility regarding foreign affairs.

  5. I am disappointed that Tom hasn't been posting, as he said he would be back, but maybe he has a good reason. I hope all is well with him.

Yeah, like who stated that we should slap the perpetrators of 9/11 on the wrist? We definitely should have kept our eye on the ball with bin Laden. Oh, but that might tone down the war on terror and we wouldn't be able to attempt to justify invading countries for their oil...I mean because they are 'harboring terrorists'...cough, cough.

    Sound kinda like Koolino now.

  6. Hi folks!

Sorry I haven't been around. I've been really busy and out of town quite a bit. I'm going to try and get back here as soon as I can to add (or subtract?) to the discussion.

In the meantime, I saw that momofthree wanted permissions, but I don't have her email address, so I couldn't give them to her. However, I did go out and give Ajai, Vicky and John administrative permissions and one of you should be able to give momofthree permissions. Otherwise, if someone could give me her email address, I can give her the permissions.

    All the best!

    Tom
