I'm mixed on this one. Part of me thinks this is a silly PR move. However, if this is a symbolic event that would put closure to the incident, then it has merit. The fight between sides could go on forever and perhaps the beer summit put it to rest for now.
That being said, Obama needs to come to the NW and taste some real beer...maybe he'll give up the Bud Light.
I can't stand Obama, but I'd share a beer with him. Imagine meeting the most powerful man in the world over beers! That's cool... Yeah, I agree he needs to get away from the Bud light! There are so many great beers out there; why choose a crap beer like bud light?

I think the "beer summit" is indicative of Obama's style. He believes in finding common ground. I can respect that.
ReplyDeleteAs for the beer, it wouldn't have mattered what beer he chose, he'd have been criticized, but I do agree, he should check out some Oregon beers.

ReplyDeleteIf he chose a good beer the Right would call him an elitist.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, Ajai, but at least Obama would know the pleasure of, say, a Calapooia IPA :)
ReplyDeleteWonder if polling was done as to what beer to choose :)
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to find out that Bud light is the most popular beer in the U.S. currently! Wow, is that sad.
YEAH, and it's not even the product of an American company anymore. Now that is sad...
