  1. Some people never heard the term 'election season.'

  2. Maybe it's like the Christmas season, gets longer every year...

  3. Yeah! Sugar cookies, egg nogg, and presents suck!

I would agree that the decorations and stuff come out way too early these days. I am a sucker for the season though, so it's all good!

  4. Stress, materialism, annoying music, obnoxious Christians....

I like Xmas as much as the next guy, for a day or a week at the most.

  5. An attempt at peace, love, and goodwill towards men. Damn Christians! Or should I say damn "Some" Christians.

Annoying music? Wow Ajai, you must have not heard a good version of Faliz Navidad blairing in a Target while fighting through the crowd to get the last tickel me Elmo doll!

Simmer down there cheif and watch A Christmas Carol. It should take the Bah right out of your humbug there Sgrooge... :) More to Christmas for me that presents, and Little Drummer Boy!

  6. Little Drummer Boy is actually on of the better songs. I like Christmas, in moderation.

  7. The week prior to Thanksgiving 99.1 FM has all Christmas music 24-7...

    I freakin' love it!

I am a little kid during the holidays. I love the smells, the ideals, and the amazing annoying music!

Speaking of "A Christmas Carol", the new animated version is coming out in November. Uhh, who has two thumbs and will be ther to see it?

    This guy...

  8. I like the ghosts but I have to wonder about the socialist themes as Scrooge spreads the wealth to that well-fare queen Bob Crachit.

  9. Difference being, Sgrooge made the choice to be giving by himself. It wasn't Government mandated!

I would add that the further theme or dare I say "moral" to the story is: Live your life, and be generous and kind. A horrible theme I know, but some like that/those sort(s) of uplifting idea(s).

  10. Scrooge made the choice after three ghosts harassed him for an entire evening. Scrooge should pay his far share of taxes. It is lack of empathy and charity that makes one a Scrooge, not a distaste for any holiday.

"It is only through a government so acted upon and so forced to acquit itself of its first responsibility that the intolerable ills arising from the present nature of the dwellings of the poor can be remedied."

    Dickens

  11. If you need to find a Scrooge, look no further than the Republican party as it stands right now.

  12. He also said:

"A person who can't pay gets another person who can't pay to guarantee that he can pay. Like a person with two wooden legs getting another person with two wooden legs to guarantee that he has got two natural legs. It don't make either of them able to do a walking-match."

"Charity begins at home, and justice begins next door."

"I only ask to be free. The butterflies are free."

"There are not a few among the disciples of charity who require, in their vocation, scarcely less excitement than the votaries of pleasure in theirs."

And this last one I find interesting. Not relevant exactly but a good quote none the less...

"The whole difference between construction and creation is exactly this: that a thing constructed can only be loved after it is constructed; but a thing created is loved before it exists."

  13. Your right, he made the "choice" after three ghosts made "him" see the error of "his" ways. Strangely enough, not a Government official legislating it!

  14. Yeah, I saw all those quotes too; good writer....

I also don't think 'charity' should be mandated, I just think the wealthy should pay their fair share of taxes, that's all.
