These are the same types that have monster trucks with naked-lady silouettes on the mud flaps...very impressive! There is an inverse relationship to IQ.
Well, probably if I said that all men are like that or if all macho-looking men are like that, it might be profiling. In this case, there is only one message that those mud flaps send...
OK, maybe I overgeneralized when I said the gun-flaunters were the same as the womanizing pigs...perhaps it would have been more accurate for me to say I think just as lowly of each of them. But is that profiling?
I suppose if I didn't hire them for some sort of job or accused them of a crime simply based on their mudflaps it would indeed be profiling.
I mean I have this image in my head of a certain poster who thinks using his own name makes him a much more responsible poster in the DH forums (..uh, not!), with a monster truck, naked-lady silhouette on his arm as well as his mud flaps, and an AR-15 sitting on his lap as he types - with a very small penis as well.
I like my guns, and respect the right to carry a gun. That being said, I would not be in a crowd of 100 people carrying guns, because at least 1 out of the 100 that's waving the gun is going to "love that gun" just a lil to much.
You have the right, but I don't get it, no offense.
I lived near White Sands, NM and was in awe of the stealth bombers that would occasionaly fly near Las Cruces, even realizing that they are for killing people, but they were also precision aircraft.
Me, I like my kitchen knives. They are useful. I got no need for a gun and if I want to collect things maybe I'll choose kewpie dolls. Less chance of an accident happening.
From a facebook friend, I think it's a good point:
"wonders why a second ammendment afficianado can carry a gun openly to one of Obama's town hall meetings, carrying a sign that reads "It is Time to Water the Tree of Liberty,' and not be removed by the secret service. Compare and contrast: Ist ammendment-loving teachers wearing tee-shirts saying "Protect our Civil-Liberties," were dragged out of Bush rallies in Medford in 2004.
I have a few friends that are collectors and they are not the type that would carry them into a crowd of people loaded or unloaded just to make a *point*
There are reasons why someone would carry a gun, but to carry a gun to make a point - is not considered *a smart thing to do* in my book. If I feel my right to have a gun is at risk, I am doing nothing for my side by waving a weapon instead of a sign.
I don’t like hearing people spout their second amendment rights and think that it can override a responsibility to respect a policy (rule), as in the situation where an enrolled student takes a gun on University property.
The same goes for first amendment rights. Use it, don’t abuse it. If in fact teachers wore tee-shirts and were not shouting down a public meeting, making it impossible for the speaker to be heard - then they should not have been removed. Same goes for anyone wearing tee shirts or carrying signs concerning guns.
Ajai, I understand what you are saying, but I’m thinking (could be wrong), that these dozen or so people with guns did not get anywhere near the president in Arizona that day.
I hope a bunch of Black Panthers show up to the presidential events fully armed to protect brother Barack. Then we'd see how much these people support the second amendment.
Wow, Ajai, you hope that happens? Really? I think The secret services' job is tough enough don't you?
I am a 2nd Amendment guy and I think these people are just plain stupid. There is no need to bring guns to a supposedly peaceful demonstration. It just gives Anti-gun people a reason to think we are redneck idiots. God I hope the people with the weapons didn't have Bibles with them... That would be a double whammy!
They were within the law, and abided by any restrictions.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking there was some HUGE overtime that day on the enforcement end to cover the "what if" though...
They must have really small penises.
ReplyDeletePeni?

owwwwww Profiling :).
ReplyDeleteum, I have no penis, but I have been told I have a pretty impressive set of balls at times.
Well, probably if I said that all men are like that or if all macho-looking men are like that, it might be profiling. In this case, there is only one message that those mud flaps send...

I still think it indicative of a low IQ ;)
I'm teasing =) I do that sometimes (uh...a lot).
ReplyDelete*Profile* away.

I do like my guns. I am not a collector of guns.
ReplyDeleteI have very few in comparison to a lot of people.
I have a few friends that are collectors and they are not the type that would carry them into a crowd of people loaded or unloaded just to make a *point*

ReplyDeleteI agree. I'm not lumping you in with the moronic fringe. :)
That's true, but there does seem to be a change in policy.
ReplyDeleteThe Daily Show adds some perspective, last nights episode was even better:

Ajai - Gotta love the Daily Show. It tends to be funny - but gets the point across. =)
