This is a really good article, and I agree with a lot of the points. I know, funny, since the logic doesn't "Ever" sway the GOP. It seems that we have gotten more divided politically.
I however do not know the soulution. Maybe it's sites like this. People from different points of view who talk and get together. It makes it tougher (Not impposible) to be rude and mean spirited when you've put a face and a laugh to the comments. At least for me anyway!
I would add though that apathy is still an issue. It always kills me that there are still those who don't vote. I don't care if you vote against me, but vote. There is no higher priority within our process then stepping up and letting your voice be heard... You know that whole "WE the people" thing. Forget apple pie VOTE, and get involved :)
