ReplyDeleteI think the key in this article is in the first line: Healthy people taking aspirin...I don't know why someone would do this as a preventative, it seems obvious to me, at least, that this is for people who have had a heart attack or are at high risk. If a healthy person wants to keep their arteries unclogged, how about watching their diet and exercising?
Also, I always thought people who took the daily aspirin took a baby aspirin, which is a much smaller dose and is buffered. Yeah, aspirin is an irritant to the stomach, I thought this was common knowledge.
As far as eggs and liver goes, I still think they CAN be bad for you. They are good in one sense and bad in another. It's like fish. Good for omega-3's, bad for mercury. I think the key with all of this is moderation of some of those foods and having a lot of variety in the diet.
Moderation, I just think it's funny how things that are studied and found to be good for you; turn out to be years later bad for you...
ReplyDeleteWell, you've seen Sleeper haven't you?
