Yeah, I don't get much into these awards shows myself, but by reading the article I don't see what race has to do with it either. The guy acted like a jerk because he wanted his pick to win.
Funny, I was just sampling some Kanye West looking for new music...maybe I shouldn't give the jerk my money.
Umm, well maybe he's changed his tune since this Salon article in 2000, but according to it:
"According to GLAAD (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), the album "contains the most blatantly offensive homophobic lyrics we have ever heard. Ever."
If he isn't homophobic, he's got a very interesting way of showing it:
"My words are like a dagger with a jagged edge. And I’ll stab you in the head, whether you’re a fag or les. A homosex, hermaph, or a transeves. Homophobic? Hey fags, the answer’s yes. Nah, you’re just heterophobic."
"I do find it interesting that you choose the anti-homosexual lyrics and not the objectivity and violence towards women!"
Huh? I did bring up his misogynist lyrics in my last post. The reason I focused so much on the homophobic ones is because of the topic of Bruno putting his butt (and other stuff) in Eminem's face.
Oh, he definitely has horrible lyrics regarding treatment of women.
Don't see what race has to do with anything. I watched part of the show randomly, last night, it all seemed pretty stupid to me, so I changed it.

ReplyDeleteFunny, I was just sampling some Kanye West looking for new music...maybe I shouldn't give the jerk my money.
I get it now. I just saw a guy from the Nation call Joe Wilson 'Kanye West without the talent,' on MSNBC and I laughed.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Taylor Swift was the first Caucasian to ever win a VMA.
I liked Bruno's entrance at the MTV Movie Awards.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to catch that on youtube ;)
ReplyDeleteBruno's entrance was classic.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the first, but one of three where Kanye West has acted like an egotistical idiot.
One involved Gretchen Wilson winning an award over him or someone he felt should have gotten it.
If I'm not impressed with the person (dislike egos and he has a big one), I'm not going to buy his music or listen to it.
Maybe it's just a Anti-Country thing...
ReplyDeleteBig ups to Beyonce. She was awesome! Class act.
OK, I caught Bruno's entrance. Very funny...especially since he landed on Eminem. Eminem's reaction is what is classis! Ha! (Can't stand him).
ReplyDeleteEminem was in on the gag...
ReplyDeleteHuh, ok. Interesting for such a homophobe.
ReplyDeleteI still can't stand him.
Didn't say I can, but he was in on it so he must not be quite as big a homophobe as you judge him to be...

What is it like, "Just kidding!"
Then there's his misogynistic lyrics.
He's scum.
No, I agree that he is an idiot and his songs, (If we can call them that) are morally repugnant!
ReplyDeleteI do find it interesting that you choose the anti-homosexual lyrics and not the objectivity and violence towards women!
I say both are horrible, don't get me wrong. I just find it interesting.
Then again, hey, it's speech! What would make it better is if he would write his lyrics on the back of the first amendment!
Maybe Pelosi should have made a speech about it!

ReplyDeleteSorry, I completely missed this sentence. We are agreed; he is an idiot on both cases!
I did find him amusing in "FUNNY PEOPLE"... His cameo was funny. Norm McDonald was another one of my favorite cameos in this movie.
No problem...I read too fast myself sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteNever saw funny people...I'll have to put it on the list...
