Cigg tax, beer tax, soda tax, property tax, income tax, energy tax, candy tax, air tax, life tax... My God where does the tax end?
This is America where you should have the choice to do what you want. You wanna eat a candy bar, and drink a Pepsi max then by golly by gum have at it! How about a little personal responsability, and God for bid a little personal freedom! For crying out in night what's next?
It's fun when we start taxing "choices", and "behavior". Before you know it we are changing our "choices" and "behaviors" based on taxes thus taking away (a bit at a time) freedom(s)...

It has nothing to do with freedom. It's just freakin' soda.
ReplyDeleteThe personal freedom to drink, eat, buy, what ever you want. How is that not about freedom?
ReplyDeleteWe legislate behavior down to the smallest part of everyday life these days...
How does taxing something take away freedoms? Should things be free? If soda costs a dollar and we put a 5cent tax on it, are we less free?
ReplyDeleteThe best answer is, slowly...
